Santa Catarina Clinic

Santa Catarina Clinic, Funchal - Madeira

Santa Catarina clinic was built in 1963 in order to be a health unit. At the time it was an example of modernity and innovation.

Through out the years, with the necessary adaptations and the requests for more space and services, the clinic had to enlarge so a building of about 400 square meters was built next door.

The current building situated on the 'Avenida 5 de Outubro' 115, has an area of 1600 square meters and the annex 400 square meters. It has a covered car park with 50 parking spaces.

Thirty four employees and twenty seven outside collaborators work in the clinic. The clinic has eleven rooms, of what nine are singles and two are double. There are four wards with a total of twelve beds.

Clínica de Santa Catarina integrates, since March 2017, Luz Saúde Group, one of the largest health groups in Portugal and a reference in the sector, with over 20 units in the country, among hospitals, clinics and senior residences.Soon, the clinic will be designated Hospital da Luz Funchal and will operate in close connection with the other structures and services of Hospital da Luz Lisboa.

Caniço Polyclinic

Caniço Polyclinic, Madeira

The Caniço polyclinic is located in the town of Caniço, in the council of Santa Cruz half way between Funchal and the airport, in one of the touristy centres of the island where you can find a lot of hotels.

Since 2002 the clinic provides services on the ground floor of the building called Alfa.

The clinic has 6 consulting rooms, a nursing room and a small ward for surgery. Besides that there is also an x-ray and ecography ward. On the total there is an area of 315 square meters.

The clinic has 6 employees and 10 external collaborators and had this past year an average of 750 monthly consultations.

The Caniço polyclinic provides services to all entities who have an agreement with the SCH lda, and have a department of occupational medicine.

Since March 2017, Policlínica do Caniço also integrates Luz Saúde Group, one of the largest health groups in Portugal and a reference in the sector, with over 20 units in the country, among hospitals, clinics and senior residences. Soon, the clinic will be designated Hospital da Luz Clínica do Caniço.
